Convertibles says it bundles CRO, development and ads in one retainer for Shopify Plus brands; Blend Commerce sells a CRO audit and an implementation programme. This guide reads convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro from each agency’s own pages, then gives six checks.
We sell Shopify CRO ourselves and have worked with neither agency. Everything below about them is their own published claim, read on 8 November 2026 and not verified by us.
What does a Shopify CRO agency do?
It finds where a store loses buyers, ranks the fixes, tests the ones that need proof and ships the winners. A Shopify CRO agency works on the visitors you already have instead of buying more.
The scale of the problem is large. Baymard’s average of 50 studies puts documented cart abandonment at 70.22%, roughly 7 in 10 carts. Our own guides explain what CRO is and how to increase conversion rate on Shopify, so here we only compare the two agencies.
Any convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro shortlist, and any search for convertibles shopify cro or blend commerce shopify cro work, should start from the same question: what exactly will they do each month, and who ships it? A Shopify CRO agency that can’t answer that in a sentence isn’t ready for your budget.
A typical month has four parts: reading the data, choosing what to test, building the change and reporting what happened. The agencies differ mostly in who does the building and how much of the store they take on, which is the heart of convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro.
Be clear about what a conversion is before anyone starts. Most stores count orders, but a subscription brand may count sign-ups, and the choice changes which tests matter. Agree it in writing and set it up as a tracked event in your analytics. Whichever agency you pick, ask to see the tracking set up before the first test starts, because a test read from the wrong event wastes weeks. A short call to confirm the event, the date range and the traffic sources costs little and prevents most disputes later.
Who is each agency for?
In the convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro choice, Convertibles points at larger brands and Blend Commerce at a wider range. The first says Shopify Plus brands from $5M a year; the second names Shopify and Shopify Plus brands without a revenue floor on the pages we read.

On its CRO agency page, Convertibles describes its clients as Shopify Plus brands doing $5M or more a year, typically spending $50K or more a month on paid media. It lists as not a fit brands under $5M, brands that want project-based development or one-off redesigns, and brands that want brand, email, social or content work.
Blend Commerce says on its home page that it helps Shopify brands, and its enquiry form asks for monthly traffic in bands that start at under 30k. It doesn’t state a revenue minimum on the pages we read. A store at $2M a year is therefore in Blend’s stated market and outside Convertibles’ stated one.
How do Convertibles and Blend Commerce work with Shopify stores?
Convertibles says it owns the whole loop, while Blend Commerce splits its offer into an audit, an implementation programme and a redesign. Both describe a prioritised, tested approach.

Convertibles states that one team does the testing, writes the code and runs Google and YouTube ads, with 2 to 4 experiments built and shipped per month. It names Intelligems as its main testing platform and TestBuddy as its own tracking tool.
Blend’s implementation page lists a 6-step process: prioritise, plan each monthly sprint, design, develop and QA in Shopify, A/B test, then review. Its home page lists the audit as a separate service, with data analysis, behaviour analysis, a heuristic review and a prioritised roadmap. Ads are not on the service list we read.
The practical difference in convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro is where you start. With Convertibles the first step is a free teardown or a call, then a retainer. With Blend you can buy the audit first and decide on implementation after reading it.
What do the results claims tell you?
That each agency has results it is proud of, which you can’t check from the page alone. A published lift becomes useful once you know the store, the dates, the traffic and the metric.
Both sites carry numbers, and in a convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro comparison they are the first thing buyers quote. Blend’s home page states average increases after 12 months of 70% in revenue, 37% in average order value and 21% in returning customer rate. Convertibles lists single test wins, for example +20.4% conversion rate from a homepage sticky button for one brand. Neither is comparable with the other, because one is an average across clients and the other is one test.
Before you rely on any of it, think about what a lift is worth to your store. This is a worked example with an invented store, not a result:
- 60,000 sessions a month at a 2.0% conversion rate is 1,200 orders.
- At an $80 average order, that is $96,000 of monthly revenue.
- A 10% relative lift is 1,320 orders: 120 more, or $9,600 of revenue a month.
- At a 40% margin that is $3,840 of profit a month, which is the number a fee should be compared with.
Testing pace matters too. At 2 to 4 experiments a month, Convertibles’ stated pace gives at most 24 to 48 tests a year, and your traffic decides how many of them can be read.
Testimonials and awards deserve the same care. The FTC’s rule on reviews and testimonials has been in effect since 21 October 2024, and its Q&A says a business that puts testimonials on its own website is disseminating them as advertising. That is no comment on either agency; it is why you should ask for a client you can phone.
What will Shopify CRO cost?
In convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro talks, neither agency shows a price on the pages we read. Convertibles says it sells monthly retainers priced by scope and test pace, with a tailored quote on a call.
We don’t state market ranges, because they move and mix very different scopes. Compare quotes in three steps:
- Ask what is delivered each month, as a list: tests, pages, fixes, reports.
- Divide the fee by the delivered items, so a bundle that includes ads and development isn’t compared with an audit alone.
- Set the quote against profit from the worked example above, not revenue.
Put that against the example: the 10% lift returns $3,840 of profit a month, so any monthly charge near that number leaves nothing, and the lift has to be larger for the work to pay back. Our guide on how to increase conversion rate on Shopify has the same profit-first test for any provider.
How do you choose in the Convertibles vs Blend Commerce Shopify CRO decision?
By fit first, then by the scorecard. Pick the agency whose stated client matches your revenue and spend, then score both on the six checks in the figure below.

Score each check 0 (unclear), 1 (stated) or 2 (stated and proven to you). Then use the stated fit as a first filter:
| Your situation | Where to look first |
|---|---|
| Under $5M a year, or unsure what is leaking | A stand-alone audit, as Blend sells it |
| $5M+ a year, $50K+ a month in ads, no dev team | A bundled team, as Convertibles describes |
| Strong in-house developers | CRO strategy and testing only |
| Need a rebuild, not tests | A redesign scoped on its own |
A shortlist is a first step, not a ranking. In a convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro decision, none of these rows is a verdict on either agency, and a store between the rows should ask both for a scoped proposal and score the answers.
What should you ask before you sign?
Ask for evidence on the six checks, in writing. A good Shopify CRO agency will answer each in a sentence, and those answers are what turn a convertibles vs blend commerce shopify cro comparison from a guess into a decision.
- Measurement: which metric, from which report? Google defines a key event as an action particularly important to your business; agree yours first and report revenue per session beside conversion rate.
- Speed: page speed work is often in scope. Google’s target is a Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, measured at the 75th percentile of visits.
- Proof: the store, the dates, the traffic split and a client you can call.
- Exit: notice period, who owns the testing account and who keeps the test log.
Our own approach is published: a free audit with 20 checks across the product page, cart drawer, checkout, speed and tracking, with a PDF report within 2 workdays.
