CRO · Checkout optimization
We do checkout optimization for Shopify and WooCommerce stores that get plenty of carts but too few orders. You get every drop-off traced to its step, costs shown before checkout, express payments where they help, fewer fields and the trust details shoppers look for, then the changes measured.
200+ clients served 500+ projects delivered
Free and no obligation. Your store URL is all we need to start your checkout optimization audit.
Free checkout optimization audit
Three fields and you’re done. We go from product page to payment the way your customers do, on a phone and a laptop, and write up every point where a shopper could hesitate or leave.
Your PDF report comes by email. If you want to discuss going ahead after reading it, we’ll set up a video meeting. We use your details only for this audit.
What we can show today
Worked example, with illustrative figures for a hypothetical store (not a client result): checkout optimization for a store with 3,000 checkouts started a month and 1,650 orders, a 55% completion rate, starts with the funnel by step and device. If phone shoppers drop at shipping, that step is fixed first, and the report compares 30 days before and after, for example 55% to 60%, about 150 more orders on the same traffic.
We apply the same rule to our own forms. The free audit form on this page asks for three things, store URL, work email and the main problem (WhatsApp is optional), because every extra field is a reason to stop. On this site we also fixed a cookie banner that shifted the page as its font loaded, a layout shift PageSpeed Insights measured at 0.132, by opening the banner only after fonts load. Checkout work is the same kind of detail, measured on real devices.
What we check
Most checkout drop-offs come from a short list. We check each one on your store, on a phone first.
Shipping, duties or fees that appear only at the last step, when a shopper has already decided on a total.
An account wall before payment, where a guest checkout would do.
Company name, second address line and phone fields asked for when they aren’t needed.
Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal not offered, or hidden below the fold on phones.
Cart drawers loaded with upsell apps, timers and pop-ups that delay the checkout button.
No delivery date, unclear returns or payment badges missing at the moment shoppers pay.

How we work
Checkout optimization starts with where people leave. We build a funnel from product view to add to cart, begin checkout, shipping, payment and order, split by phone and desktop, from GA4 or Shopify analytics. Baymard’s cart abandonment research puts the average documented rate at 70.22% across 50 studies, so some cart abandonment is normal; the question is which step loses more than it should on your store.
Then we shop the store. We place test orders on a real phone and a laptop, with a new customer and a returning one, and record every screen. Most problems show up here: a shipping cost that appears only on the last step, a discount box that sends people off to search for codes, a cart drawer that loads four apps before the checkout button responds.
Costs come first in the fixes. Shoppers decide on a price before they reach checkout, so we show shipping costs or the free shipping threshold on the product page and in the cart, add a delivery date estimate, and make returns easy to find. If duties apply for some countries, we say so before payment, not after.
Express checkout is next. Shopify’s guide to accelerated checkouts explains that Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay and PayPal can show as buttons on product pages and at the start of checkout, ordered to show the fastest method for each customer, and it warns that hiding them may lower conversion rates. We check which ones are on, where the buttons sit on a phone screen and whether a theme or app has pushed them out of view.
The checkout itself depends on your platform. On Shopify, the checkout is managed by Shopify, so we work within the checkout and accounts editor: branding, fields, trust blocks and approved apps; apps on the information, shipping and payment steps need Shopify Plus. Cart and shipping logic that previously ran in Shopify Scripts stopped working on 30 June 2026, as Shopify’s Script Editor page notes, so it has to live in Shopify Functions now. On WooCommerce, we can change the checkout directly, which means fewer fields, a guest option and a one-page layout.
Last, we measure. Each change is shipped with the funnel step it should move, and we compare the four weeks after with the four weeks before, adjusted for traffic and promotions. Where the store has enough orders, bigger changes go through a split test instead. Recovered carts that still slip away get a follow-up through abandoned cart recovery.

What’s included
The audit is free. If you want us to make the changes, this is the work.
Product view to order, step by step, on phone and desktop.
New and returning customers, phone and laptop, every screen recorded.
Shipping, thresholds, delivery dates and returns on the product page and cart.
Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal set up and placed where phones see them.
Apps, timers and pop-ups that slow the cart removed or loaded later.
Branding, fields and trust blocks in Shopify’s editor, or the WooCommerce checkout rebuilt.
Each funnel step compared, four weeks either side of the change.

How we work
Nothing is charged until you have seen the drop-offs and the plan.
Step 1
You send the store URL; within 2 workdays you get the test order report as a PDF.
Step 2
The funnel, the fixes ranked by impact and the cost, agreed in writing.
Step 3
Fixes made on a copy of the theme or on staging, tested, then published.
Step 4
Each step compared before and after, with a split test for big changes.

Fit
Not the right fit if few people add to cart in the first place. Then the product pages are the problem, and a CRO audit is the better start.
Pricing
The audit is free. Paid work starts at these prices, and your exact cost is fixed in writing before any work begins.
Free no obligation
We’ll place a test order on phone and desktop and send a PDF report within 2 workdays.

FAQ
Can’t find yours? Ask on WhatsApp or by email and we’ll answer it.
It is finding where shoppers leave between cart and order and fixing those steps. Typical fixes are showing costs earlier, adding express payments, cutting fields and adding trust details.
Baymard Institute puts the average documented rate at 70.22%, from 50 studies. Compare your own rate over time and by device rather than against a single benchmark.
Partly. Every plan can brand the checkout and use apps on the thank you and order status pages. Apps on the information, shipping and payment steps need Shopify Plus.
Express checkouts save returning customers from typing their details again, and Shopify warns that hiding them may lower conversion. We test where the buttons sit on your store.
Usually not. An account wall before payment adds a step many shoppers won’t take. Offer guest checkout and invite people to create an account after the order.
Most stores need a few weeks of orders to read a change. We compare four weeks before and after, and use a split test when the order volume allows it.
