Affordable SEO services for small business: 5 best proven
Affordable SEO is a scoping decision, not a shopping decision. This guide shows what a small budget actually buys, what to buy…
Consulting · SEO consulting
Our SEO consulting is for businesses that have people to do the work but want an experienced SEO consultant to set the direction: audits, strategy, training and ongoing advisory. We tell you what to fix and in what order, teach your team how, and review the work as it ships. If you’d rather hand the work over, our done-for-you SEO covers that.

Free SEO audit
Three fields and you’re done. The PDF report shows what we found on your own pages and accounts, and the order we’d fix it in. It covers the problems we see most often:
Your PDF report comes by email. If you want to discuss going ahead after reading it, we’ll set up a video meeting. We use your details only for this audit.
Results
Screenshots from client accounts, anonymized and shown with permission. Each caption gives the source and the dates. They show SEO results on client sites; the reports don’t separate advice from hands-on work.

Fit
Not the right fit if nobody on your side has time to make changes. Consulting produces decisions and training; without someone to act on them, done-for-you SEO is the better choice.
Problems we fix
A 200-row export from an SEO tool, sorted by severity score, with no link to traffic or revenue.
A content plan that assumes three writers when the business has half of one.
Recommendations made without knowing the CMS, so developers push back or ship something that causes new problems.
Teams chase a site-health score or a plugin’s green light instead of indexing, rankings and sales.
A redesign launches, URLs change, redirects are missed and traffic drops for months.
Questions come up during the work, and the consultant has already moved on.

Our approach
Google’s own advice on hiring an SEO is a good checklist: ask for examples of past work, ask whether they follow Google Search Essentials, and walk away from anyone who promises first place. Our SEO consulting is built to pass that test. Every recommendation is explained, tied to evidence in your data, and free of ranking promises no one can keep.
Most engagements start with an audit scoped to your site and your team. We crawl the site with Screaming Frog, check clicks and indexing in Search Console’s Performance report and Page indexing report, and use Ahrefs or Semrush for links, competitors and keyword gaps. Findings are ranked by their effect on traffic and revenue and by the effort for your team, with an owner named for each.
Then comes the SEO strategy: which pages should rank for what, what to fix in the templates, what content to create or merge, and what to stop doing. The plan matches your capacity. If your team can publish two good pages a month, the plan says which two. Content guidance follows Google’s advice on helpful, people-first content, with Surfer or NeuronWriter used to check coverage, not as a writing formula.
SEO training turns recommendations into skills your team keeps. Sessions are built around your own site: how to read Search Console, how to brief and review an article, how to plan internal links, how to check a template change before it ships. Each session is recorded so new hires can catch up.
Ongoing advisory is a monthly block of consultant time: a regular call, written answers between calls, reviews of briefs, pages and developer tickets before they go live, and a monthly look at the numbers. It keeps a senior SEO consultant close to the team doing the work, at a fraction of a full-time hire.
In SEO consulting, migrations and redesigns get special attention, because that’s where SEO is most often lost. We map old URLs to new ones, check redirects and canonical tags on the staging site, compare crawls before and after launch, and watch indexing closely for the first weeks.
This is the work Kashif has done as a freelance SEO and digital marketing consultant for a fashion e-commerce consultancy in New York since August 2022, covering technical and on-page SEO, after starting out in 2021 as a WordPress and PHP developer who did SEO. That developer background is why our recommendations come with the template, plugin or theme change they need, written so a developer can act on it.
We stay inside Google’s spam policies: no link schemes, no pages mass-produced only for search, no hidden text. If a past provider used those tactics, the audit says so and the plan includes the clean-up. For any URL change we follow Google’s site move guide, which says to keep redirects in place for generally at least 1 year. Speed is judged against Google’s Core Web Vitals thresholds: main content within 2.5 seconds, a response to input within 200 milliseconds and layout shift of 0.1 or less.

How we use AI here
Our SEO consulting uses AI next to the established tools: Screaming Frog, Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, Surfer and NeuronWriter.
AI helps group crawl findings by template and cause, so recommendations come with the fix that solves the most pages.
We show your team how to use AI for drafts and research safely, with a checklist for facts and sources.
How your pages appear in Google’s AI features and in ChatGPT answers is part of the strategy, measured honestly.
Where it doesn’t help: shortcuts. Publishing AI text in bulk to rank is against Google’s spam policies, and we advise against it.

How we run it
In SEO consulting, recommendations match the people who will act on them. Typical timing: discovery in the first week, the written plan within 2 weeks, and a review call at 30 days.
Step 1
Goals, team, CMS, past SEO work and access to Search Console and analytics.
Step 2
The audit and a ranked plan, presented on a call and recorded.
Step 3
Sessions for the people doing the work, built on your site.
Step 4
Monthly advisory while your team ships, with reviews and a numbers check.

FAQ
Can’t find yours? Ask on WhatsApp or by email and we’ll answer it.
An SEO consultant reviews your site and data, decides what to fix and in what order, and helps your team do the work through training and advice. The difference from an SEO agency is who does the work: with consulting, your team does.
With done-for-you SEO we make the changes, write the content and report back. With SEO consulting we set direction, train and review, and your team makes the changes. Some teams start with consulting and move work to us later, or the other way round.
No, and Google advises against working with anyone who does. Rankings depend on Google, competitors and your site. We commit to the work, the reasoning behind it and an honest reading of the results.
Screaming Frog for crawls, Search Console and GA4 for Google’s own data, Ahrefs or Semrush for links, competitors and keywords, and Surfer or NeuronWriter for content coverage checks. Tools inform the decisions; they don’t make them.
Yes. Training is built on your own site and recorded, covering Search Console, briefs, internal linking and how to check changes before they ship. Sessions can be one-off or part of monthly advisory.
Yes. We map old URLs to new ones, check redirects and canonical tags on the staging site, compare crawls before and after launch, and monitor indexing closely for the first weeks.
SEO consulting advisory lasts long enough for your changes to show up in Search Console, which usually means several months. We agree the length when we scope the work, and you can change the amount of time as your team grows.
