AI search · AEO

Answer engine optimization: be the answer your buyers get.

Answer engines, from Google’s AI Overviews to ChatGPT, Copilot and voice assistants, give people one answer instead of ten links. Answer engine optimization (AEO) makes your page the clearest, most trustworthy answer to the questions your buyers ask. Think which size, which material, how to care for it and which one to choose: we find those questions, answer them first on the right page and make the answer easy for machines to read.

Free AEO audit

We’ll check your AEO, the answers to the questions buyers ask, and send a PDF report within 2 workdays.

Three fields and you’re done. The PDF report shows where your AEO stands on your own pages, and the order we’d fix it in. It covers the problems we see most often:

  • The answer is buried
  • Answers live in the inbox
  • One FAQ page for everything

Your PDF report comes by email. If you want to discuss going ahead after reading it, we’ll set up a video meeting. We use your details only for this audit.

Fit

Who it’s for

  • Stores whose buyers ask a lot before they buy: sizing, materials, compatibility, care, gifting
  • Brands that answer questions in emails and DMs every day but nowhere on the site
  • Collections and product pages with no text a search engine or AI tool could quote
  • Teams that want a question-by-question plan, not a vague “AI content” package

Not the right fit if you want hundreds of AI-written FAQ pages. Thin pages written for machines get ignored or treated as spam; we write fewer answers, better.

Problems we fix

Why your answers aren’t the ones people get.

  • 01

    The answer is buried

The useful sentence sits in paragraph six, after a brand story. Answer engines pick pages that answer in the first lines.

  • 02

    Answers live in the inbox

Support and sales answer the same questions every week, but none of it is on a page anyone can find.

  • 03

    One FAQ page for everything

A single long FAQ page competes with nothing. Answers belong on the product, collection or guide the question is about.

  • 04

    No facts to quote

Vague copy (“premium quality”) gives an engine nothing to cite. Measurements, materials and rules do.

  • 05

    Markup that doesn’t match

FAQ or product structured data that says something different from the visible page is ignored, or worse.

  • 06

    Questions nobody tracks

Without a list of target questions, nobody knows which answers exist, which are missing and which engines use them.

Read the transcript
  1. What we check first for answer engines Five checks, starting with where the answer sits on the page.
  2. 1. How far down is the answer? Answer engines favour pages that answer within the first lines. We count the words a reader passes before the useful sentence. (Example guide page.)
  3. 2. Are inbox answers on a page? Support and sales answer the same questions every week. We list them and check which have a page anyone can read. (Example inbox; only returns had a page.)
  4. 3. Does each answer sit where it’s asked? One long FAQ page competes with nothing. Each answer belongs on the product, collection or guide the question is about.
  5. 4. Is there a fact to quote? “Premium quality” gives an engine nothing to cite. Measurements, materials and rules do. (Example product page.)
  6. 5. Does the markup match the page? Google asks that structured data describe content visible on the page. Markup that says something else is ignored, or worse. (Example page. Source: Google Search Central structured data guidelines.)
  7. Then we fix them, in that order. Want this checked on your site? The free growth audit covers all five, in writing.

Our approach

AEO, answer engine optimization, question by question.

AEO starts with the questions, not the keywords. We collect them from five places: Search Console queries phrased as questions, “People also ask” and related searches, your support inbox and live chat, product reviews and returns reasons, and competitors’ FAQ and guide pages (we use Ahrefs and Semrush for the search side). The result is a question map: every question, its intent, the page that should answer it and whether that answer exists yet.

Then we write the answer first. Each answer opens with one or two sentences that settle the question, followed by the detail: measurements, a table, a short how-to, a link to the product. Google’s guidance on helpful, people-first content is the standard we write to, and Google says its AI features need nothing beyond that and normal SEO.

Answers go where the question lives. “Will this ring fit if I’m between sizes?” belongs on the ring’s page and the size guide, not on a generic FAQ. Product questions go on product pages, category questions on collection pages, and bigger decisions (“lab-grown or natural?”) get their own guide, linked from both.

Structure makes answers readable for machines as well as people: one question per heading, short paragraphs, real lists and tables. We add structured data only where it matches the visible text: product markup for prices, availability and reviews, and FAQPage markup where it’s honest, knowing Google now shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of sites.

Answers also need to be findable. We check that answer pages are indexed and eligible for a snippet, linked from the products they help sell, and not hidden in tabs that load only after a click. If a page uses nosnippet or max-snippet rules, we review whether they still make sense.

We measure answers, not just rankings. Search Console shows which question queries bring clicks; each month we check the target questions in Google, ChatGPT and Copilot and log whose answer is used. AEO is one part of our wider AI search optimization work; if you sell through product feeds, the same answers also improve what ChatGPT can say about your products. Google said in July 2025 that AI Overviews have over 2 billion monthly users across more than 200 countries and territories and 40 languages. The audience is large: OpenAI said more than 700 million people used ChatGPT each week in September 2025, and put it at over 800 million users in October 2025.

How we use AI here

Where AI helps (and where it doesn’t).

  • Question mining

AI clusters thousands of queries, reviews and support messages into distinct questions, so nothing common is missed. We decide which ones get answers.

  • Gap checks

Scripts compare the question map with your pages and flag questions with no answer, or with an answer buried too deep.

Where it doesn’t help: the answer itself has to be right for your product and your policies. A language model doesn’t know your return window or how your sizes run, so every answer is written or checked by someone who does.

What’s included

Deliverables, not promises.

  • Question map

Every buyer question we can find, grouped by intent, with the page that should answer it and its status.

  • Answer-first rewrites

Product, collection and guide sections rewritten so the answer comes first, followed by the detail.

  • New answer content

Size and care guides, comparisons and decision guides for the questions that need more than a paragraph.

  • Structured data check

Product and FAQ markup aligned with the visible text and validated.

  • Snippet and index check

Answer pages confirmed indexed, snippet-eligible and linked from the right products.

  • Monthly answer log

Target questions checked in Google, ChatGPT and Copilot, with whose answer was used.

How we run it

Four steps, in this order.

Questions first, answers second, measurement every month. Typical timing: the baseline within 2 workdays, the first fixes in about a week, new and rewritten pages from week 2, and the first monthly report after 30 days.

  1. Step 1

    Map

Questions collected from search data, support, reviews and competitors, then grouped and assigned to pages.

  2. Step 2

    Answer

Missing answers written and buried ones rewritten, highest-value questions first.

  3. Step 3

    Mark up

Structure, headings and structured data aligned with the visible answers.

  4. Step 4

    Track

Question queries and AI answers logged monthly, and the map updated.

Four steps of our answer engine optimization process: map, answer, mark up, track
Map, answer, mark up, then track.

Pricing

How pricing works

We quote after a short audit, once we’ve seen the account or the store, so the number is based on the real work. Ongoing work is one flat monthly amount, starting at $300. There’s no minimum term: plans run month to month.

By industry

What changes for your category.

  • Jewelry

Ring sizing, metal allergies, stone care and gift timing are asked every day. Answering them on the product page is what makes it the one quoted.

  • Fashion & apparel

Fit, fabric and “how does it wash” questions decide returns. Clear answers reduce them and give answer engines something to use.

  • Luxury & high-ticket

Provenance, authenticity and condition questions need careful, factual answers. They’re also the ones buyers trust most.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Can’t find yours? Ask on WhatsApp or by email and we’ll answer it.

What is answer engine optimization?

Answer engine optimization (AEO) is making your page the clearest and most trustworthy answer to a specific question, so that search features, AI assistants and voice tools use it when they answer people directly.

How is AEO different from SEO?

SEO aims for a good position in a list of results. AEO aims to be the answer itself. The foundations are the same (crawlable, indexed, helpful pages); AEO adds a question-by-question plan and answer-first writing.

How is AEO different from GEO?

AEO focuses on single questions with a clear answer. GEO focuses on being cited or recommended inside longer generated answers, which depends more on your reputation across the web. We run both as part of one AI search plan.

Does FAQ schema still help?

Less than it did. Google shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of authoritative sites. We still mark up honest FAQs because it describes the page clearly, but the answer text matters far more than the markup.

Where do you find the questions?

From Search Console, People also ask and related searches, your support inbox and chat logs, reviews and return reasons, and competitors’ guides, using tools such as Ahrefs and Semrush for the search side.

Will answering questions on product pages hurt conversions?

Usually the opposite. Answers to sizing, care and delivery questions remove the doubts that stop people buying. We keep them short on the page and link to the full guide.

How do you measure AEO?

With question queries in Search Console, featured snippets and AI Overviews where we can see them, and a monthly check of the target questions in Google, ChatGPT and Copilot.

Can AI write the answers?

AI can draft structure and spot missing questions. The answers themselves are written or checked by people who know the product, because a wrong answer costs a sale or a return.
