Shopify vs WooCommerce SEO: what each platform lets you control
Is Shopify good for SEO? Yes, and so is WooCommerce: both platforms can rank. This comparison shows what you control on Shopify…
Web development · Wix
Many small businesses run well on Wix, and a rebuild isn’t always needed. Our Wix development customizes Wix and Wix Studio sites with code, fixes SEO and speed, connects forms and stores to your tools, and plans a move that protects rankings when you outgrow it. We have done that last part for real: we moved a high-ticket antique jewelry store in the US from Wix to Shopify.

Free Wix development audit, no obligation. Your site URL is all we need to start.
Free Wix audit
Three fields and you’re done. The PDF report shows what we found on your own pages and accounts, and the order we’d fix it in. It covers the problems we see most often:
Your PDF report comes by email. If you want to discuss going ahead after reading it, we’ll set up a video meeting. We use your details only for this audit.
Fit
Not the right fit for sites that just need a new Wix template applied; Wix’s own editor makes that easy. Large catalogs with complex needs usually belong on Shopify, which we can help you move to.
Problems we fix
A custom form, a calculator, a filter or a member area that needs more than drag and drop.
Default page titles, missing descriptions, no structured data, and old URLs without redirects.
Several Wix apps doing small jobs, each adding weight and a monthly cost.
Product options, shipping rules or catalog size that the store setup struggles with.
Leads, bookings and orders that never reach the CRM or accounting tool.
Sites moved off Wix without URL mapping, losing years of search traffic overnight.

Our approach
Part one is custom code. Wix sites can be extended with JavaScript on the frontend and backend. Wix’s developer documentation describes a Node.js backend environment that Wix hosts, the Wix CMS and its data APIs, and production features such as eCommerce and Bookings that code can extend. Custom code used to be written with Velo APIs; Wix now offers the JavaScript SDK for most functionality, and the Velo reference says Velo APIs keep working during the transition. We write new code with the SDK where it’s supported.
Part two is the CMS and dynamic pages. Repeated content, such as services, team members, locations, portfolio items or events, belongs in the Wix CMS with dynamic pages, so editors fill in an item and the page builds itself. We set that up and connect it to forms, filters and search; in most Wix development projects, this is where editors save the most time.
Part three is SEO and speed. Each page gets a proper title, description and social image; URL changes get 301 redirects; structured data is added where it fits; and Search Console confirms indexing. Speed work on a Wix website focuses on what the owner controls: image sizes, the number of apps and embeds, fonts and heavy sections above the fold.
Part four is connections. Leads and bookings go to the CRM or inbox they should, orders reach accounting and fulfilment, and conversions are tracked in GA4 and the ad platforms. Where a native integration doesn’t exist, a small backend function or an automation tool fills the gap; our business automations service covers the no-code side.
Part five is the move, when it’s the right call. A store that sells hundreds of products, needs advanced shipping or wants a larger app ecosystem is usually better on Shopify; a content-led business with complex needs may be better on WordPress. We moved a US antique jewelry store from Wix to Shopify with products, URLs and redirects mapped, and our migration service follows Google’s guidance on site moves with URL changes.
We give an honest answer on staying or moving. A Wix website that brings in enquiries and costs little to run often just needs better SEO, faster pages and a couple of custom features. Moving costs money and carries risk, so we recommend it only when the platform is holding the business back, and we show you why in writing.
AI tools make Wix development quicker. Wix now offers a plugin and local development through the Wix CLI so AI coding tools can work with a site’s code. We use that to draft code faster, and a Wix developer reviews and tests it on a test site before it reaches yours.
Every change to a Wix or Wix Studio site is tested before it goes live. We try code in preview or on a duplicate site first, and we check forms, store flows and tracking on phones and desktops, then publish with your approval.

How we use AI here
Frontend and backend code for Wix drafted with AI tools through Wix’s local development setup, then reviewed.
Old URLs matched to new ones quickly, then checked by a person before redirects go live.
Titles, descriptions and alt text drafted for many pages and checked for accuracy.
Where it doesn’t: we don’t let AI publish to your site, rewrite your brand voice unchecked or decide whether you should leave Wix. Those are human decisions, made from your numbers.
What’s included
Frontend and backend code with the Wix JavaScript SDK or Velo, tested before publishing.
Repeated content in collections, with dynamic pages, filters and forms.
Titles, descriptions, social images, redirects, structured data and indexing checks.
Images, apps, embeds and fonts reviewed and trimmed.
Product pages, options and store flows adjusted within Wix’s limits.
Leads, bookings and orders routed to your tools; conversions tracked.
An honest comparison of staying on Wix and moving, for your business.
When it’s right: products, content, URL mapping and redirects to Shopify or WordPress.

How we run it
Fix what holds the site back first; move only when Wix is the limit. Typical timing: the scope within 2 workdays, the build in 2 to 4 weeks depending on size, then testing, launch and handover in the final week.
Step 1
SEO, speed, apps, forms and store setup of the Wix website, and what the business needs next.
Step 2
Improve on Wix or plan a move, in writing, with the reasons.
Step 3
Custom code and fixes tested before publishing, or a mapped migration.
Step 4
Indexing, tracking and forms checked after launch; notes handed over.

Per project
A real Wix to Shopify move we ran is on our Shopify migration page: an antique jewelry store’s 968 pages carried over, 1,082 permanent redirects mapped, and organic clicks above the pre-launch level by the second 28-day window.
Pricing
We quote after a short audit, once we’ve seen the account or the store, so the number is based on the real work. Each project is a fixed one-off cost, agreed before work starts: from $400.

FAQ
Can’t find yours? Ask on WhatsApp or by email and we’ll answer it.
Yes. Wix supports frontend and backend JavaScript through the Wix JavaScript SDK and Velo, with a Node.js backend Wix hosts. We test code before it’s published.
Wix now recommends the JavaScript SDK for most functionality, and Velo APIs keep working during the transition. In our Wix development, new code goes on the SDK, and older Velo code stays until there is a reason to rewrite it.
No, Wix sites can rank well. Most problems we see are settings and content: default titles, missing descriptions, no redirects after URL changes. Those can be fixed on Wix.
If you sell many products, need advanced shipping or apps, or the store is holding you back, probably. We moved a high-ticket jewelry store from Wix to Shopify, and we compare both for you before recommending a move.
A move always carries some risk, but mapping every old URL to its new page with 301 redirects, as Google recommends, protects most of what you’ve built.
Yes. Wix Studio has a built-in code editor and supports local development, and we use both.
AI tools help draft code, URL maps and SEO fields; a person reviews and tests everything before it goes live.
By project, from a written scope after a short audit. Migrations are quoted after we’ve seen the site and the catalog.
