Free marketing audit

We’ll check 20 points across your marketing and send a PDF report within 2 workdays.

Three fields and you’re done. We look at your numbers, channels, tracking and team set-up the way an incoming CMO would in week one, then write up what to fix first.

  • 20 checks across numbers, channels, tracking, team and plan
  • A PDF report on your own store and accounts, plus the written priorities
  • No logins needed; read access to analytics is optional and asked for in the chat

Your PDF report comes by email. If you want to discuss going ahead after reading it, we’ll set up a video meeting. We use your details only for this audit.

What the proof shows

What these reports prove, and what they don’t.

These reports show channel results: search traffic that grew about 28 times over a year, and paid campaigns returning eight to nine times their spend. A fractional CMO is judged on something wider, the profit of the whole store after marketing, so these screenshots prove the team can run the channels, not that a CMO role made the difference.

Kashif has led marketing beyond single channels: as Digital Operations Head for a hospital client, where the job covered listings, ads, reviews and the team running them, and as digital marketing strategist for a high-ticket antique jewelry store in the US.

The 20 checks

What the fractional CMO audit checks, in five groups of four.

The same 20 checks a new marketing lead would run in week one, so the plan starts from facts.

  • 01

    Numbers (1 to 4)

Revenue per channel, marketing spend as a share of revenue, cost to win a new customer and how many buyers order again.

  • 02

    Channels (5 to 8)

Search, paid social, email and marketplaces: which ones carry the store and which run on habit.

  • 03

    Tracking (9 to 12)

Analytics key events, ad platform conversions, UTM tags and whether the numbers agree with the store’s orders.

  • 04

Team and access (13 to 16)

Who owns the ad, analytics and store accounts, who works on them, and what each agency and freelancer is paid to deliver.

  • 05

    Plan (17 to 20)

Whether there is a written plan, a budget by month, a launch calendar and one weekly meeting where decisions are made.

  • 06

    What you get back

A PDF report with the five things to fix first, and a draft of your first 90 days.

Read the transcript
  1. What a fractional CMO checks in week one Five of the 20 checks, so the plan starts from facts.
  2. 1. Which channels carry the store? Revenue by channel from the store’s own orders, not from each ad platform’s report. (Example store, last 90 days.)
  3. 2. What does a new customer cost? Marketing spend divided by new customers, set against what a customer is worth in their first year. (Example store.)
  4. 3. Do the numbers agree? When each platform claims the same sales, nobody can tell what to cut. We check the reports against the orders. (Example month.)
  5. 4. Who owns the accounts? Ad, analytics and store accounts should belong to the business, with agencies and freelancers added as users. (Example store.)
  6. 5. Is there a plan anyone follows? A written plan, a budget by month, a launch calendar and one weekly meeting where decisions are made. (Example store.)
  7. Then we fix them, in that order. Want this checked on your marketing? The free growth audit covers all five, in writing.

How we work

How a fractional CMO for ecommerce runs your marketing.

A fractional CMO is a senior marketing lead you share with a few other companies: a few days a month instead of a full-time salary. For a store doing a few crore a year, that is often the missing piece. The agencies run the ads, a freelancer posts on Instagram and someone sends emails, but nobody decides where the next rupee goes. Our fractional CMO for ecommerce brands takes that seat, sets the plan and answers to you on profit, not on clicks.

The centre of the role is the weekly KPI review: one sheet, one meeting, every week. It shows revenue, marketing spend, spend as a share of revenue, new customers and what each cost, repeat orders, conversion rate and margin after ads. Each channel reports into the same sheet, and the meeting ends with written decisions: what we change, who does it, by when. Decisions that worked stay in the log, and so do the ones that didn’t.

Ownership comes before strategy. Your business should own its ad accounts, analytics and store, with agencies added as users. In Google Analytics, Google’s user management page notes that the last user with the Administrator role can’t remove themselves, so we make sure that user is you. Google Ads offers Admin, Standard, Read-only, Email-only and Billing levels, and its access levels page warns that an account with one admin can lose access to its tags if that person becomes unavailable. On Shopify, partners get collaborator accounts with only the permissions they need.

Managing agencies is mostly reading what they did. Google Ads change history lists every change made in the past two years, with the email of the person who made it, so the weekly review checks real activity against the agency’s report. When a campaign runs on Target ROAS, we set the target from your margins, not from a round number, using Google’s Target ROAS guide.

Numbers only help if they agree. We check that Google Analytics key events mark the actions that matter (purchases, sign-ups, enquiries), that the ad platforms count the same orders and that the store’s own sales report is the final word. Our tracking and analytics team fixes what doesn’t match before any budget moves on it.

Every quarter starts with a 90-day plan: three to five priorities, a monthly budget and a launch calendar, the same output as our growth strategy sprint. The marketing leadership stays practical. Kashif and the team run Google, Meta, SEO and email for stores every week, so the person chairing your KPI review knows how each channel works from the inside.

Fit

Who a fractional CMO is for

  • E-commerce brands with steady sales and several agencies or freelancers
  • Founders who make every marketing decision themselves and want it off their desk
  • Stores between their first marketer and their first full-time head of marketing
  • Brands whose numbers disagree between the ad platforms and the store

Not the right fit before product-market fit, or if you need hands on one channel only. For a one-off plan, our e-commerce consulting fits better.

What does a fractional CMO do?

A fractional CMO leads your marketing part-time: sets the plan and budget, runs a weekly review of the numbers and manages the people doing the work. You get senior judgement for a share of a full-time salary.

Is the marketing audit really free?

Yes. The 20 checks, the PDF report and the video meeting cost nothing and come with no obligation. You only pay if you then ask us to lead your marketing, at a fixed price agreed first.

How many hours does a fractional CMO work?

Usually a few days a month, set in the plan, with the weekly KPI review as the fixed point. Launches and planning weeks take more time; quiet months take less.

Fractional CMO or marketing agency?

An agency does the work in its channels. A fractional CMO decides what work is worth doing across all channels and holds every agency to it. Many stores need both.

What KPIs does a fractional CMO track?

Revenue, marketing spend as a share of revenue, new customers and their cost, repeat orders, conversion rate and margin after ads, every week, side by side.

When should an online store hire a fractional CMO?

When sales are steady, two or more agencies or freelancers are involved and the founder is still making every marketing call. Before that, a one-off plan is usually enough.
